NCP(SP) chief Sharad Pawar hospitalised in Pune after health concerns

NEW DELHI: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar was taken to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Monday after his health condition worsened while he was at his residence in Baramati. His office said the veteran leader complained of coughing and difficulty in breathing, prompting the decision to move him to the city for medical care, according to news agency ANI.The 85-year-old opposition leader was shifted by road, with his convoy leaving Baramati and heading towards Pune. Visuals showed Pawar’s convoy passing through Loni Kalbhor as it proceeded to the hospital.

Throat infection cited as immediate concern

According to news agency PTI, Pawar was taken to the hospital following complaints related to his throat and persistent coughing. A close aide told the news agency that he is suffering from a throat infection and was being moved to Ruby Hall Clinic for further examination and treatment.

Doctors to assess condition on arrival

Ruby Hall Clinic’s chief cardiologist and managing trustee, Dr Parvez Grant, confirmed that Pawar was being brought to the hospital. “Upon arrival, a team of doctors will check him and accordingly further course of action will be decided,” Dr Grant said, as quoted by PTI.Sharad Pawar, a senior political figure and former Union minister, has remained active in public life despite age-related health issues in recent years. Further updates on his condition are awaited.
