Cabin crew supervisor alleges sexual assault by friend at Gurgaon hotel after 250km detour

GURGAON: A 28-year-old cabin crew supervisor of an airline has alleged that her friend outraged her modesty and attempted to disrobe her.The sexual assault took place at a Gurgaon hotel, said the Rewari resident — who works in Delhi — in her complaint. Following the complaint, a case was registered against the accused under sections 74 (criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) and 76 (criminal force to any woman or abets such act with the intention of disrobing) of BNS. The woman said that since the accused didn’t have money to pay for a separate room, she allowed him to share the room. The accused allegedly touched her “inappropriately” and “tried to disrobe” her, after which she immediately confronted him, raised an alarm and informed the police control room, following which the complaint was lodged. The accused is yet to be arrested. Police said that the woman’s husband served in Indian Army. The couple married in 2019. An officer said that despite repeated calls, the woman was yet to return since the registration of the FIR. “We called the survivor, who was yet to come for a detailed investigation,” the officer added. The woman left for Dehradun on Feb 7 with the accused for official work. She alleged her friend initially drove 250km in opposite direction, after which they returned to Bulandshahr. She claimed that she paid for car fuel at a petrol pump in Bulandshahr. As it was getting late, they decided to halt for the night at a hotel as they were tired. They booked a room at the hotel located in the area. When asked if the accused worked in her office, investigators said that things would be clear after she would visit the police station or after the arrest of the suspect.
