‘Touched me repeatedly’: Bihar man held for molesting co-passenger on Hanoi flight

KOLKATA: A male passenger, Abdur Rahim, was arrested at the Kolkata airport after a co-passenger alleged that he molested her during a flight from Hanoi, Vietnam.In the complaint, the woman, who was travelling in seat 26A, complained that the passenger in seat 26B repeated touched her inappropriately. She initially believed the contact was accidental but after it happened three-four times, she confluded it was intentional. She also alleged that Rahim, who hails from Bhagalpur in Bihar, made inappropriate comments.

When she alerted the airline staff, the crew intervened and shifted the passenger to another seat. When the flight reached Kolkata, Rahim was handed him over to security personnel. CISF personnel detained the man and handed him over at the NSCBI Airport police station.Rahim was arrested and produced at Barasat court. He is facing charges related to molestation and verbal abuse, police added.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
