Rinku Singh rushes back home due to medical emergency in family

TimesofIndia.com in Chennai: India batter Rinku Singh has flown back home due to a medical emergency in the family. It is reliably learnt that his father was undergoing cancer treatment for over a year, and his condition has deteriorated in the last few days.The entire team trained in Chennai from around 5:30 pm today, but Rinku was a notable absentee.

While there has been no official word on him missing the training from the BCCI, TimesofIndia.com understands that he has already left the city to be by his father’s side. Rinku has been a regular in the Playing XI during India’s ongoing T20 World Cup campaign. Nevertheless, the southpaw has had a forgettable campaign so far. There is no clarity on when he will be joining the squad at this moment.
