Several US military aircraft crashed in Kuwait early Monday, but all crew members survived and were in stable condition, Kuwait’s ministry of defence said.In a statement carried by Kuwait’s state news agency, the ministry said the crews were evacuated and transferred to hospital and that the response was conducted in coordination with US forces. The statement did not specify how many aircraft were involved, reported Reuters. Separately, smoke was seen rising from the vicinity of the US embassy compound in Kuwait City, with fire trucks and ambulances deployed in the area, a witness told Reuters. There was no immediate response to requests for comment from the US embassy in Kuwait or the US state department regarding the embassy incident. The crashes came as Kuwait said it had intercepted hostile drones earlier on Monday, marking the third consecutive day of Iranian retaliatory strikes on neighbouring Gulf states following US and Israeli attacks on Iran.Iran’s state media, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Iranian armed forces had hit a US plane that crashed in Kuwait. Multiple videos are circulating on social media as being filmed in the Al Jahra area showed a military aircraft falling from the sky, with a person seen parachuting in the same frame.
