Bullets rain in Haryana: Man pumps 8 shots into wife outside home

By: Manoj Dhaka/TNNJHAJJAR: A history-sheeter facing three criminal cases allegedly shot dead his wife outside their home in a village in Haryana’s Jhajjar district on Monday night, firing eight bullets at her in what police suspect was the fallout of a domestic dispute.The accused, identified as Sanjay, fled the spot after allegedly killing his wife, Anjali, said assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Anil Kumar. He added that a forensic team visited the crime scene in Biradhana village and collected evidence.Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby locations to reconstruct the sequence of events and trace the suspect’s movements before and after the incident, the ACP said.Of the three cases already registered against Sanjay, one pertains to murder. “Following Monday’s incident, a fresh murder case has been registered against him. Multiple teams, including CIA and special staff units, have been deployed to conduct raids at possible hideouts, but the accused remains untraceable,” Kumar said.Preliminary investigation suggests a domestic dispute may have triggered the fatal confrontation. The ACP added that the case is being probed from all angles and nothing is being ruled out at this stage. Police are making efforts to trace and apprehend the accused at the earliest.
