India & Japan agree to commence bullet train signalling work

Paving the way for the operation of a Japanese Shinkansen train on the Gujarat section of Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project, India and Japan Friday agreed to immediately commence signalling work, including the Japanese system, for introduction of a general inspection train and one set of the E5 series Shinkansen train. The govt plans to start operation of bullet train by Dec 2027 on the Gujarat section.
