Indian-origin social media influencer stabbed to death in Ontario, Canada

BATHINDA: A 45-year-old social media influencer and YouTuber of Punjabi origin, Nancy Grewal, was stabbed to death in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.Grewal was known for being vocal on social media about developments in Punjab. In the past, she had spoken against jailed MP Amritpal Singh, Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, and Dera Beas head Gurinder Singh Dhillon. She had also raised her voice when social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was found dead in Bathinda in June 2025.She had actively spoken out on the India–Canada tensions, condemning the Khalistanis.According to the LaSalle Police Service, officers and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing shortly before 9.30 pm. They found Grewal suffering from severe stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services but later succumbed to her injuries.“The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal,” the police stated in a statement posted on social media. To ease public concern, investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident.Police have not yet confirmed whether a suspect has been taken into custody. The fatal stabbing comes about two weeks after the region’s first homicide of 2026.Investigators are urging anyone with information related to the LaSalle homicide to contact Det Sgt. Jamie Nestor at 519-969-5210 ext. 2531. Police are also requesting surveillance footage from residents in the surrounding area to assist in the investigation.
