Englishman Stephen Constantine has been reappointed head coach of Rwanda’s men’s team on a two-year contract.

The 63-year-old will leave his current managerial role with Cypriot club APEA Akrotiri to take up the position on 16 March.

Constantine had a spell in charge of Rwanda from May 2014 to January 2015 before he left to manage India.

A statement from the Rwanda Football Federation said Constantine will bring “leadership, technical expertise and dedication to advancing Rwanda’s football ambitions”.

London-born Constantine has enjoyed a varied managerial career in some of football’s more offbeat locations.

In addition to Rwanda and India he has also managed Nepal, Malawi, Sudan and Pakistan.

Rwanda are 130th in the Fifa rankings and bidding to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) for just the second time following their debut appearance in 2004.

Constantine’s first match in charge will be against Grenada in Kigali as part of the biennial Fifa Series friendly tournament.
