Iran's top security official claims 'Epstein-linked network' plotting ‘9/11‑like’ attack to frame Tehran

A top Iranian security official on Sunday issued a dramatic claim amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East that a network linked to the late convicted sexual offendor Jeffrey Epstein is planning a large‑scale terrorist incident reminiscent of the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and will attempt to blame the responsibility on Iran.Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council, wrote in a post on X that he has “heard that the remaining members of Epstein’s network have devised a conspiracy to create an incident similar to 9/11 and blame Iran for it.”Larijani added that Iran fundamentally opposes such terrorist schemes and “has no war with the American people.”His comment comes amid the intensifying conflict in the Middle East region, which has seen escalating exchanges between Tehran and US-Israel following a series of strikes and counter‑strikes in the region.
