VISAKHAPATNAM: A 35-year-old Naval employee murdered a 29-year-old woman at his house, dismembered her body, destroyed some parts, and stored others in a refrigerator at LV Nagar under Gajuwaka police station limits in Vizag city. The crime came to light after the accused surrendered to the police. The deceased was identified as Mounika. The accused, Ch Ravindra, is a Navy technician and a native of Rajam in Vizianagaram district. Ravindra was married and had developed an affair with Mounika, a resident of Vizag city. According to reports, Ravindra’s wife had left for her hometown in Vizianagaram a few weeks ago, leaving him alone in the house. Mounika visited Ravindra’s house on Sunday afternoon (March 29) after receiving a phone call from him. The couple stayed at the house for several hours, but they reportedly fought in the evening. In a fit of rage, Ravindra stabbed her to death and dismembered her body. He allegedly packed some of the body parts in a bag, went to an isolated location, and destroyed them, while keeping others in his refrigerator. Police said Ravindra later went to the station, confessed to the crime, and surrendered. Officers recovered some of the body parts from his residence. However, the head was missing, and authorities suspect Ravindra disposed of it elsewhere. A special team has been formed to trace the head and the remaining body parts.
