NEW DELHI: A Chinese climber has died while coming down from K2, the world’s second-highest mountain. Guan Jing was returning from the summit on Tuesday night when falling rocks struck her. She was one of about 30 climbers who had reached the top a day earlier. The accident happened on the Abruzzi Spur route, between Camp I and Advanced Base Camp, an area known for dangerous rockfalls. At 8,611 metres, K2 is shorter than Mount Everest but is considered a more difficult climb. Rescuers are waiting for the weather to clear before recovering her body.
