Maharashtra horror: Nagpur guitar teacher rapes 17-year-old at gunpoint; held

NAGPUR: A 17-year-old first-year student was allegedly repeatedly raped and blackmailed at gunpoint by her guitar teacher over a period of two months. The accused also threatened the survivor with a sharp weapon, said police. The 27-year-old accused, identified as Sagar Singh Parosiya, alias Samson alias Rajubhau, is a married man staying at Civil Lines. Offences were registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and also POCSO Act, 2012, with additional charges under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act after a sword was recovered from his residence.As per the police complaint, the survivor joined the guitar class at Ujwal Nagar two months ago. After eight days, Sagar Singh allegedly touched the girl inappropriately during classes. The shocked minor left the class abruptly, leaving her belongings behind, the complainant stated.On July 23, between 4pm and 6pm, Sagar Singh called the survivor, threatening to kill her family if she did come to his flat at Sunshine Apartments. When the girl reached his flat, Sagar Singh allegedly raped her after threatening her by brandishing a gun and knife.The accused repeatedly forced the minor to come to his apartment by threatening to attack her parents, said police. On August 12, between 4pm and 6.30pm, Sagar Singh again assaulted her. The minor finally confided in her mother on August 13, said police. The minor filed a complaint at Sonegaon police station, leading to the registration of a case the same day. The police apprehended Sagar Singh. “A search of his residence led to recovery of a sword, prompting additional charges,” said senior inspector Nitin Magar, who is probing the case under the supervision of Zonal DCP Rushikesh Singa Reddy.
