Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes discussed a remarkable event in his family life. His third child, Golden Raye Mahomes, was born to his wife, Brittany Mahomes, during the NFL postseason in January 2025. In the new ESPN docuseries, ‘The Kingdom,’ which examines the Chiefs’ 2024–25 season behind the scenes and their quest for another Super Bowl trophy, Patrick told the tale. With siblings Sterling Skye Mahomes, 4, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2, Golden completes the five-person Mahomes family.

In The Kingdom, Patrick Mahomes stated Brittany entered labor on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Kansas City. Patrick was seeing playoff games at home at the time. “Brittany did great work here. All day I was watching playoff games. She went into labor after one game,” he said. Patrick added,“Our baby was here before the next game finished, so I didn’t even miss a playoff game. She is as locked in as I am as far as football goes.”The timing allowed Patrick to be present at the hospital without missing team activities or important games. Golden Raye Mahomes became the youngest addition to the Mahomes family, following big sister Sterling Skye Mahomes and little brother Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

Both Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes appear in The Kingdom, which started streaming on ESPN+ and Disney+ on August 14, 2025. ESPN showed the first two episodes at 9:00 p.m. ET.
