Bengaluru shocker: Man stabs ex-girlfriend’s new lover; says he was ‘unwilling to accept breakup’

BENGALURU: Angry over his girlfriend breaking up with him and dating another man, a 26-year-old salesman with his brother and friends stabbed his rival near Jataka Stand in Palace Guttahalli on Aug 15.The injured man was identified as 25-year-old Chandan Gowda, a resident of Vijayanagar, who is unemployed.

The police arrested the salesman Yatish (26) and his brother Harsha (23) on Sunday in a case of attempted murder. The role of others are yet to be ascertained. Chandan lives with his parents on Nagappa Street in Vyalikaval and was dating the girl for the last three months. She had broken up with Yatish over some differences. Unwilling to accept the breakup, Yatish was trying to get back with her. Chandan had called his relative Prajwal on Aug 15 to tell him that he was going to meet Yatish and later, around 9.35pm, he called back and informed that he was stabbed. Prajwal rushed Chandan with stab injuries to his chest and abdomen to a nearby hospital. He was shifted to Victoria Hospital, where he is recovering after a surgery.
