Zerodha faces outage, company ‘acknowledges glitch’

Indian online brokerage platform Zerodha is experienced a brief outage on Wednesday morning (September 3). The outage led to the disruption in price updates for some users as the markets opened at 9.15 AM. The technical glitch affected the Kite trading app.The outage rendered users unable to place new orders or modify existing ones, leaving many investors frustrated during a crucial market session. On the other hand, the outage tracking website Downdetector also reported Zerodha users in the country are facing issues with placing orders on the platform. The Downdetector data shows around 55% users faced issued with trading. While 38% users had issues with mobile brokerage and 7% were not able to access the website. Around 6,000 users reported the issues with Zerodha on DownDetector.

Zerodha outage what the company said

Zerodha has acknowledged issue and also replied to a user on X (formerly known asTwitter) about the issue. In a post shared on X the company wrote, “Some of our users are facing issues with price updates on the app. We’re checking this. For now, please log in to Kite web on mobile browser. Order placement is not affected. For the equity segment, you can also check 20 depth on the app.”Later the company posted that the issue has been resolved.

Please take responsibility for these outages. every time this happens, traders bear the losses while you don’t. We expect more accountability and a permanent fix,” wrote a user.Another user posted, “Hey@Nithin0dha/@nikhilkamathcio, I know you’re all about transparency, but I’ve noticed that when@zerodhaonline is down, there’s no way to know. It’s really frustrating when you can’t communicate with the platform. I hope you’ll consider setting up a clear messaging process.”
