By 2021, they officially went public with their relationship. In 2023, Thomas surprised Bonner with a proposal that quickly went viral online. Notably, much before meeting Thomas, Bonner was already a sensation in the WNBA. She was drafted fifth overall by the Phoenix Mercury in 2009. Known for her consistent scoring and defense, she helped her team reach the playoffs and win two WNBA championships. Off the court, Bonner is a proud mother to twins, Cali and Demi, from her past relationship with fellow WNBA player Candice Dupree.
