In his final video, ASI Sandeep expressed support to former Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia who was shunted after the incident. In the video, Sandeep said that Bijarnia is an honest police officer. The disturbing incident occurred just hours after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi met Puran Kumar’s wife and daughters.Kumar — who reportedly died by suicide at his Chandigarh residence last Tuesday — had named 16 senior IAS and IPS officers in his note, alleging harassment and holding them directly responsible for his decision to take the extreme step.Kumar, who held the rank of additional director general of police (ADGP), reportedly shot himself at his government accommodation in Chandigarh. Police cordoned off the area after receiving the report, recovered the weapon, and called in forensic teams to investigate. Following his death, the Haryana government placed the state’s director general of police on leave and replaced Rohtak’s superintendent of police, Narendra Bijraniya, with Surinder Singh Bhoria, officials confirmed on Saturday.Police in Haryana have amended the FIR in the alleged suicide case Puran Kumar to include provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, following a request from his wife, senior IAS officer Amneet P Kumar.Amneet P Kumar had written to police seeking the inclusion of what she described as the “appropriate section” of the law, specifically Section 3(2)(v), arguing that the previously invoked provisions were diluted. Chandigarh IG Pushpendra Kumar, who is leading a six-member Special Investigation Team probing the case, confirmed on Sunday that the FIR now includes Section 3(2)(v) of the Act.
