Microsoft wants to make every Windows 11 PC an AI PC

Microsoft is bringing AI to every Windows 11 computer, no special hardware required. The company announced major updates that make Copilot—its AI assistant—a central part of how people use their PCs, from voice commands to on-screen help that can actually get things done for you.

Just say “Hey Copilot” and you’re good to go

The new wake word feature lets users start conversations with Copilot Voice simply by saying “Hey Copilot,” making AI assistance as easy as asking a question out loud. People who use voice engage with Copilot twice as much compared to text users, showing how natural speech makes AI more accessible. When you’re done, just say “Goodbye” and Copilot wraps up the conversation.Copilot Vision, now available worldwide, can analyse what’s on your screen to help with everything from improving photos to reviewing PowerPoint presentations without flipping through slides. It’s like having a helpful colleague looking over your shoulder, ready to offer tips on creative projects or guide you through unfamiliar apps.

AI that’ll actually do things for you

Coming soon to Windows Insiders, Copilot Actions will take things further by handling tasks on local files. Need to sort vacation photos or pull information from a PDF? Copilot can do the heavy lifting while you focus on other work. The new Manus AI agent in File Explorer can build websites from documents in your local folder with a single click—no coding required. Meanwhile, gaming gets smarter too. The ROG Xbox Ally devices now include Gaming Copilot, letting players access tips and recommendations without leaving their game. With Windows 10 support ending, millions are upgrading to Windows 11 PCs. Microsoft notes that 68% of consumers are already using AI for decision-making, and the company is betting that voice and visual interfaces will make its AI tools accessible to even more people.
