We will never accept stolen votes

Tensions are high in Cameroon as the country awaits the results of the 12 October polls.

Opposition leader Issa Tchiroma Bakary has declared himself the winner. However, the government has condemned his move as illegal, urging citizens to remain patient as official results are tallied.

Protests have been reported in several parts of the country as supporters on both sides remain on edge. Authorities in Cameroon are calling for calm while the nation waits for the final results.

The BBC’s Paul Njie spoke to Tchiroma Bakary, who says he will not accept a stolen vote, with the results due to be announced on Monday.
