VIJAYWADA: Horrifying footage has emerged from the Venkateswara Swami Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, showing devotees collapsing and being trampled amid a chaotic stampede on Saturday.At least ten people were killed and several others injured on Saturday morning as large crowds gathered to observe Ekadashi, one of Hinduism’s most sacred fasting days.Police said the rush for darshan quickly got out of control. Many devotees had been waiting for hours, and the sudden surge led to severe overcrowding and panic. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, and authorities warned the death toll could rise as some victims remain in critical condition.Authorities said an investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the stampede and assess crowd management measures at the temple.
