Telangana horror: Man kills wife, sister-in-law, child over family dispute, ends life; elder daughter survives
A 40-year-old daily labourer in Hyderabad allegedly murdered his wife, sister-in-law, and 10-year-old daughter with a machete following a domestic dispute

HYDERABAD: In a case of triple murder, a 40-year-old daily labourer allegedly hacked his wife, sister-in-law and 10-year-old daughter to death with a machete at their house in Kulkacherla town, Vikarabad, in the early hours of Sunday. His 15-year-old daughter was also severely injured in the attack, but she managed to escape. The accused, Vepuri Yadaiah, later took his own life.Kulkacherla police have registered a case for murder and suicide and are probing the exact motive behind the killings.Prima facie cops suspect that the murders stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute between Yadaiah and his wife, Alivelu, (35) who he also suspected of having an affair. Recently, their fights had escalated, forcing Alivelu’s sister, Hanumamma, to travel to their house from a neighbouring mandal on Saturday, to act as mediator.Police said the couple worked as daily wage labourers in the town and lived in Kulkacherla with their daughters who were studying in classes 9 and 4 respectively in a nearby school. As Yadaiah and Alivelu worked at different places on some days, the former suspected his wife of engaging with other men, which led to frequent quarrels. In addition, they also fought frequently over petty family issues, cops added.“On Saturday afternoon when Yadaiah picked up an argument with Alivelu, she called her sister living in Kosgi. She rushed to the couple’s home to settle the issue,” said S Srinivas, deputy superintendent of police, Parigi.Between 2:30 am and 3:00 am on Sunday, Yadaiah and wife again quarrelled. This time, he blamed Hanumamma for being the reason for the disputes in the family.According to cops, he picked up the machete and first attacked his sister-in-law and then his wife. Yadaiah landed multiple blows on both, killing them on the spot. By then, his elder daughter woke up and raised an alarm. Yadaiah then pounced on both the minors and managed to kill the younger one.Though the 15-year-old also suffered injuries to her hands and elsewhere, she managed to run out and alert the neighbours, said a cop.“When the neighbours rushed to the couple’s house, they found the three bodies lying on the floor with blood all around. Yadaiah had also ended his life a few feet away,” the cop said.
