GURGAON: A 30-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Faridabad on Thursday morning. On Friday, a murder case was registered against Shashibala’s husband and six of his relatives based on a complaint lodged by her mother — Rekha — under sections 103(1) (murder) and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of BNS.Rekha, a resident of Mandkaul village in Palwal, alleged her daughter was “continuously harassed and mentally tortured” by her husband Lalit alias Sanju, mother-in-law Omwati, sisters-in-law — Manju, Shaily and Vinita — and brothers-in-law — Tara and Neeraj.“On Nov 5, around noon, my daughter called me and said they were troubling her again and threatening to kill her. The next morning, I got the news that she was murdered,” Rekha said.Preliminary findings suggest Shashibala — who was married to Lalit, a resident of Tilpat village, about 10 years ago — may have been strangled, a senior police officer said, adding, police received a call from a private hospital around 1.30am on Thursday about the death.
