A sub-engineer with MP’s Singrauli Municipal Corporation forged a promotion letter from the CM’s office in Bhopal on Aug 21 to “promote” herself to assistant engineer. The ruse came undone when officials verified the document and determined it was a fake. A cheating and forgery case was filed against the 34-year-old woman, who has since gone on leave and disappeared. A case was registered at Waidhan Kotwali police station after a complaint by the municipal corporation. tnn
