Bomb threat mail spurs massive search at Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s house

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Security checks were carried out at Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s official residence, Cliff House, and at a private bank in Palayam on Monday after an email claimed explosives had been planted at both locations, police said.The alert was triggered when the CM’s private secretary received the threatening email. A bomb detection team and a sniffer dog squad were deployed to inspect both sites.After thorough searches, officials confirmed the threat was a hoax. Police noted that similar emails targeting the CM’s residence have been received several times in the past. In each case, the sender referenced political developments in Tamil Nadu and cases registered there.A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities added that the emails were sent using dark web applications, making it difficult to trace the sender. Nevertheless, security checks are carried out as a precaution whenever such threats are received.
