India’s long wait for United States visa appointments has eased significantly, according to the latest update from the US State Department. Processing times for key visa categories have decreased across major cities. Months are calculated in 30-day periods and half months in 15-day increments, including weekends and holidays when embassies are closed.Embassies and consulates regularly release new appointment slots. Applicants can check the scheduling system to move to an earlier appointment if one becomes available. The department notes that average wait times are based on past applications and do not guarantee a visa interview on a specific date.
