HYDERABAD: The state govt has decided to name several roads in the city after US President Donald Trump, Ratan Tata, Google, Microsoft, Wipro, among others. According to the CMO, the road along the United States consulate general in Hyderabad is set to be called ‘Donald Trump Avenue’.The upcoming greenfield radial road connecting the ORR at Raviryal with the proposed RRR will be named after Ratan Tata, with the interchange at Raviryal already named ‘Tata Interchange’.The govt will write to the Union external affairs ministry and the US embassy, informing them about the plans. Earlier this year, the chief minister, while addressing the annual US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conclave in New Delhi, had proposed naming key roads in Hyderabad after leading global corporations.Additionally, a prominent stretch will be named ‘Google Street’ in recognition of the global impact and contribution of Google Maps and the corporation at large. The road alongside its upcoming campus, set to be Google’s largest campus outside the US, will bear this name. These proposals are part of the govt’s initiative to position the state as a symbol of innovation-driven India, the CMO said.Microsoft and Wipro are also likely to find representation on the city’s topography, with proposals for a Wipro Junction and a Microsoft Road, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision. The govt is further considering dedicating additional roads in honour of distinguished individuals and major corporations.
