JAMMU: Police booked seven house owners in Jammu district and one in Reasi district on Saturday for renting their properties to unverified tenants, in violation of orders issued by the district magistrates.“The drive to verify tenants has been intensified in view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations,” a Jammu police official said.In Reasi’s Katra area, a police patrol noticed some people living in jhuggis involved in a violent quarrel. “During verification, it was found that the group from outside the state was residing at the location as unverified tenants,” police said.
