Gold futures saw a slight uptick on Friday morning, after a choppy week of trading. On the MCX, gold for the February 5 contract was quoted at Rs 1,37,805 per 10 grams, up Rs 63 or 0.05%. However, the broader tone for gold remained weak, as a stronger US dollar and ongoing adjustments in commodity indices continued to weigh on prices. Traders were also cautious ahead of the release of US non-farm payrolls data later in the day, which is expected to influence short-term price movement. In overseas markets, spot gold was down 0.4% at $4,458.10 per ounce by 0126 GMT, even as US gold futures for February delivery edged 0.2% higher to $4,467.60 per ounce. Meanwhile, the US dollar index was marginally higher at around 98.95 in early Asian trade, curbing demand for bullion among non-dollar investors.Here is how much gold costs in your city today:
