'Attempted to flee': Coast guard intercepts Pakistani fishing vessel in Arabian Sea - Watch

NEW DELHI: An Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship on patrol in the Arabian Sea intercepted a Pakistani fishing vessel, Al-Madina, found inside Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line. There were nine crew members aboard the vessel.When challenged, the boat attempted to flee towards Pakistan, but the ICG ship successfully intercepted and boarded it.“In a swift and precise night operation, an India Coast Guard ship whilst on patrol in Arabian sea sighted a Pakistani Fishing Boat inside Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line on Jan 14, 2026. On being challenged, the boat attempted to flee towards Pakistan side, however, the ICG Ship intercepted and boarded the boat in Indian waters. A total of 09 crew were found in the #Pakistani boat, AL-MADINA,” the Coast Guard said in a statement. The fishing boat is being towed to Porbandar for detailed inspection and joint interrogation by the relevant authorities, the Coast Guard said.
