America’s biggest telecom company cuts 393 jobs, says: More than 200 different job titles affected, including...

T-Mobile is set to cut 393 jobs in Washington, where it is headquartered. According to a recent filing by the company with the State Employment Security Department (seen by Geekwire), the latest round of layoffs will affect more than 200 job titles across technical, operational, and leadership roles. The cuts hit nearly 210 senior- and director-level employees hardest, including seven vice presidents and senior vice presidents. Among those affected are a senior VP of talent, four VPs of legal affairs, and several analysts, engineers, technicians, directors, and managers. Additionally, several analysts, engineers, technicians, directors, and managers. Employees at the telecom giant’s Bellevue headquarters, data centres in Bellevue and East Wenatchee, and retail stores and facilities across Bothell, Bellingham, Woodinville, Spokane Valley and other locations received a 60-day notice. The layoffs take effect on April 2.

What T-Mobile said about its latest round of job cuts

In an emailed statement, T-Mobile wrote, “As the next step in our evolution, we’re making some changes while continuing to hire to ensure we have the right focus, structure and momentum to keep changing the industry through innovation and a long-standing focus on customers.”The company added that it was responding to “a dynamic market”.A WARN filing submitted to the state and signed by Monica Frohock, senior director of the Magenta Service Center, attributed the cuts to “changing business needs.”“These facilities are not being closed.
