Passenger train derails in Odisha: New Jalpaiguri-Chennai Central SF goes off track near Jakhapura

The New Jalpaiguri–Chennai Central Superfast Express derailed near Jakhapura station in Odisha’s Jajpur district while en route to Howrah, Kolkata.The incident occurred at 8.51 am, and no injuries or fatalities were reported, railway officials said, as cited by PTI. One AC coach and two general coaches of the train jumped off the tracks. Passengers have been suitably accommodated, and the cause of the derailment is under investigation.A rescue team has been dispatched from Bhadrak to the site, and response operations are underway.This is a developing story
