Bengaluru shocker: 20-year-old Manipur woman crushed to death by BMTC electric bus

BENGALURU: A 20-year-old beautician was run over and killed by a BMTC electric bus near KR Pura railway station Friday morning. The victim is Hannah Inka from Manipur who stayed at Marathahalli.The accident occurred around 9.30am when Hannah was riding pillion on a gearless scooter with her cousin, Chun Sabha Inka. Police said the BMTC electric bus (KA-51-AK-0576) rear-ended the scooter, throwing both riders on the road. “Sabha Inka fell on the left side and Hannah fell on the right. The front wheel of the bus ran over her,” a police officer said. She was rushed to KR Pura government hospital but was declared dead.

BMTC bus driver Chandrakanth was arrested and booked under BNS Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash and negligent driving).
