GURGAON: A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of youths after he intervened to stop the harassment of a girl in Girdawar colony under the Palla police station area of Faridabad on Monday evening. The man, identified as Jai Singh, suffered multiple knife injuries and doctors at BK Civil Hospital declared him dead on arrival.Police said Singh worked as a taxi driver and lived in Girdawar colony with his family.On Monday afternoon, he was sitting in a park near his house with his friend, Saurabh, when a boy approached him seeking help, alleging that some youths in the park were harassing his sister. Singh confronted the youths, threatened them, and chased them away.According to Singh’s uncle, Ram Prakash Arya, the attack took place around 8pm when four to five youths returned to the park and attacked him. He sustained seven to eight stab wounds, several of them on the chest. Hearing his screams, Singh’s wife, Aarti, rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood. Saurabh took him to BK Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.According to the victim’s family, Saurabh initially tried to flee from the hospital after leaving the body there, but colony residents caught him and handed him to the cops. He later revealed the crime to the police.Police reached the hospital after receiving information from the hospital authorities, took possession of the body, and handed it over to family members following the post-mortem.Police said a murder case was registered on the complaint of Singh’s brother, Jagat, against Sonu and Tushar, besides others, at Palla police station. The accused are residents of the same colony.Singh was the youngest of three brothers and is survived by his wife and two daughters. Palla police station SHO said raids are being conducted to arrest the suspects, and further investigation is underway.
