India didn't send observers for Bangladesh polls: MEA

Amidst the voting in Bangladesh, India said Thursday that it stands for free, fair, inclusive, and credible elections in the country. The ministry of external affairs (MEA) also said India had declined Dhaka’s invitation to send observers for the polls.“We should wait for the outcome to see what sort of mandate emerges, and thereafter, we will look at the issues. On the election, you know our position: we stand for free, fair, inclusive, and credible elections in Bangladesh,” said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. “We did receive an invitation to send observers, we have not sent our observers to Bangladesh,” he added, when asked if India had sent observers.
