Infiltration bid foiled, terror module busted in Jammu

JAMMU: Troops foiled an infiltration bid along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of Jammu’s Rajouri while a joint team of police and 54 Rashtriya Rifles busted a terror module in the district’s Nowshera area, arresting a suspected terror associate with links to Pakistan-based smugglers and wiping out a trans-border, inter-state weapons racket.A White Knight Corps (16 Corps) spokesperson said on X that “suspicious movement of terrorists” was detected early Thursday and added alert troops responded with swift and calibrated fire, successfully foiling the infiltration attempt. “A state of operational alert continues to be maintained across the sector.”In Nowshera, Sachin Kumar alias Pamma was arrested on the basis of intelligence inputs and a cache of arms, including a Turkiye-made Zigana pistol and three magazines, a Chinese TT-30 Norinco pistol and a magazine, and 15 live rounds, were seized, the White Knight Corps spokesperson said on X.Preliminary investigation indicates Kumar was in direct contact with Pakistan-based terrorists/smugglers and was operating a trans-border, inter-state weapons racket.
