Horrific double murder in Delhi: Woman, daughter killed in Sarita Vihar; bodies found in bed box

NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter were brutally murdered and their bodies stuffed into a bed box at their residence in southeast Delhi’s Sarita Vihar. Police have identified a neighbour as the prime suspect and are investigating whether he acted in rage after the woman reportedly rejected his advances.Police said a PCR call was received around 10.30pm on Friday reporting the discovery of two bodies at a residence in Aali Vihar. A police team from the local station went to the house and found the bodies concealed in a bed storage box. The bodies were taken to AIIMS.

“While initial medical examinations showed no obvious external wounds, the postmortem conducted on Saturday indicated the cause of death as strangulation and smothering. The final postmortem report is still awaited,” a senior officer said.The woman’s husband, who works at a printing press in Okhla, said he returned home to find the apartment door locked from the inside.

Double murder: Man searched for wife, daughter for 2 hours

He searched for his wife for nearly two hours and asked relatives if she had gone somewhere. When his other children, who had been outside, returned crying, he alerted the neighbours. Together, they forced the door open. Police said an accountant residing in the same building may have acted out of frustration after the woman snubbed his advances.A case has been registered under Sec 103 (1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police teams are conducting raids in the area to apprehend the accused.
