‘Gotta get out of here’: American reacts to Iranian attack on naval base in Bahrain — watch

Iran’s missile strike targeting the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain sent shockwaves across the island nation, rattling residents — including Americans living there. A video that has since gone viral captures the moment one American man witnesses the strikes overhead. Initially stunned, he quickly realises more projectiles may be incoming and panics. “Oh, oh, oh… Oh my God… A missile actually got through. Oh, there’s more. I gotta get out of here,” he is heard saying in the clip, his voice filled with alarm as the explosions light up the sky.Bahrain’s state news agency confirmed that several sites inside the kingdom were struck, calling the attack a “flagrant violation of sovereignty” and announcing that emergency protocols had been activated. Authorities later said the service centre of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet had been targeted in a missile strike, adding that further details would be released as information became available. The attack followed hours after the United States and Israel launched what they described as a “broad, coordinated military operation” against Iran. Early strikes were reported near Tehran, including areas close to offices associated with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian media reported explosions and air raids in multiple cities, while state television broadcast images of damaged buildings in Tehran, with rescue workers searching through debris for survivors. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard subsequently announced it had launched an initial wave of drones and missiles toward Israel, signalling the start of a broader retaliation.
