AHMEDABAD: A video showing doctors in LG Hospital sleeping and resting on ICU ward beds went viral on social media, leading to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), which runs the hospital, to order an investigation on Monday. The video is believed to be from Saturday night. Due to limited number of beds at VS Hospital, also managed by AMC, many patients come to LG Hospital where the ICU often has no available occupancy. Due to this, patients are advised to seek admission at other hospitals.

On Monday, a video showing some resident doctors either resting or sleeping on ICU ward beds went viral on social media. A resident doctor is seen coming to check on other patients, while another is seen resting on a bed. The hospital superintendent has been tasked with the investigation, and the head of the department has been issued a notice demanding an explanation.There will also be an inquiry into how many resident doctors were sleeping on duty. If the doctors’ explanations are not satisfactory, further action will be taken.
