Bhopal teacher dies after consuming bhang at Holi gathering with students
A 26-year-old teaching faculty member died under suspicious circumstances after allegedly consuming bhang (cannabis) during a Holi gathering with his friends

BHOPAL: A 26-year-old teaching faculty member died under suspicious circumstances after allegedly consuming bhang (cannabis) during a Holi gathering with his friends at a flat in Naveen Nagar in the Aishbagh area on Wednesday.According to police, the deceased, Krishna Nayak, 26, was a resident of the Aishbagh area. He worked as a teaching faculty member at a private college in Ratibad, where he taught BTech students in the Computer Science department.

Police said that after celebrating Holi with his family in the morning on Wednesday, Krishna reached a flat belonging to his students in Naveen Nagar around 3 pm. He consumed bhang at home and also brought bhang tablets with him for the students. At the flat, Krishna and the students allegedly consumed bhang together and danced during the Holi celebration.Around 4 pm, Krishna reportedly complained of feeling unwell and went to another room to lie down. As his condition worsened by around 7 pm, the students rushed him to a hospital, where he died during treatment.Family members told police that Krishna consumed bhang since morning on Holi. They claimed that he mixed 6 bhang tablets in about 1 litre of milk and drank it. Meanwhile, the students told police that Krishna served everyone a glass of bhang, but he himself consumed multiple glasses, which may have led to his deteriorating health.Doctors have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death. Police said it could be due to a heart attack or possible intoxication turning toxic, but the reason will be clear only after the post-mortem report.
