A Manipuri woman faced harassment and assault in South Delhi’s Saket on Sunday evening (Representative image)

NEW DELHI: A woman from Manipur was allegedly assaulted after objecting to harassment by a group of men near the Saket District Court complex in south Delhi on Sunday evening. According to police, the woman and her friend were taking an evening walk near a park in the area when some men allegedly passed remarks at them. When one of the women confronted them over the comments, an argument broke out that escalated into a physical assault. The injured woman was taken to Safdarjung Hospital for medical examination and treatment. Police said her condition is stable. A police team reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and spoke to the victim. Officers said they are in touch with her and further action will be taken based on her statement. Sources added that efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused.(With agency inputs)
