Pune shocker: Truck carrying buffaloes stopped, driver and cleaner forced to eat cow dung

PUNE: The Ambegaon police on Sunday arrested two men and a transgender person for beating, abusing and forcing a truck driver and the cleaner to eat cow dung on Friday early morning.Senior inspector Sharad Zine of Ambegaon police said, “On Sunday afternoon, we registered a suo-motu complaint against the trio and we arrested them”.Zine said, “The victims, a truck driver and a cleaner, both from the minority community, are residents of Karad. On Friday, one of them lodged a non-cognisable offence, stating that the cow vigilantes abused and beat them up. However, they did not mention that they were forced to eat cow dung”.“The two were transporting four buffaloes to Mumbai from Karad. They had permission from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and veterinary doctors to transport the buffaloes”, Zine said.“The three arrested persons and their accomplices stopped the truck on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass and claimed that the driver and cleaner were illegally transporting the cows for slaughter. They then made obscene comments on the duo and slapped them”, he said.“Later, the suspects uploaded the video of the incident on a social media site and a police constable stumbled upon the video and on Sunday, we registered a suo-motu complaint against the trio”, he said.
