Pakistan's Akhtar revives Mohammad Amir fixing memory with huge no-ball

Pakistan fast bowler Asad Akhtar drew attention after delivering a big no-ball during a National T20 Cup match on Saturday, March 14.Playing for Karachi Blues against Lahore Blues at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, the right-arm pacer gave away 21 runs in his only over. He bowled two wides and two no-balls, with one delivery drawing particular attention as his front foot was well beyond the crease, while his back foot appeared closer to the line. The delivery was compared by fans to Mohammad Amir’s no-ball against England during the 2010 spot-fixing case at Lord’s, with Akhtar’s no-ball appearing big in comparison.Akhtar is new at the top level, having made his debut earlier this year. In five T20 matches, he has taken three wickets at an economy rate of 9.14. In the ongoing tournament, he has picked up one wicket in two matches while conceding runs at an economy rate of 11.25.Despite his over, Karachi Blues secured a 57-run win. Jahandad Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani took four wickets each as Lahore Blues were bowled out for 149 in 17.3 overs while chasing 206.Earlier, Karachi Blues scored 206 for three after being asked to bat first. Saad Baig led the innings with an unbeaten 72 off 37 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes. He was supported by Ahsan Ali (39), Shah Raza Naqvi (30) and Usman Rahim (33).The win moved Karachi Blues to fourth place in Group B with four points and a net run rate of -0.126.
