Actor Matthew Marsden says he received threats for speaking about H-1B visa scam by Indians in Texas: 'If Brits were committing...'

Actor says he’s receiving threats after he spoke out against H-1B visa abuse by Indians in Texas.

British-American actor Matthew Marsden claimed he received life threats after he spoke out against the H-1B visa scam by Indians in Texas. He also said he was not targeting any skin color or nationality and if the Brits were committing the H-1B visa fraud, he would be just as angry. All of this stemmed from his X post on April 4 where he ranted about Indian kids teeming Home Depot and no one speaking English. “I just went to Home Depot and there was a morning for kids there. Every single family there was Indian and no one was speaking English. This H1B visa fraud is destroying Texas and something needs to be done about it,” the viral post read. The post drew flak and got called out as an example of bigotry as social media users pointed out that Indian kids speaking in a different language is not H-1B visa scam because those kids definitely know English as well, and they are polyglots. “Every Indian kid learns at least 2 languages and speaks the Indian tongue in the presence of family. I can guarantee they speak English too. Why did you leave that out? Because bigotry gets clicks. I guess,” one wrote.“The beautiful self-goal of this brand of bigotry is that most of those Indians are polyglots and can speak English in addition to any number of Indic languages. Whereas Monolingual Manga Madayan probably only speaks American English. So…who, exactly, is more educated?” activist Indu Viswanathan wrote. “Being outraged by brown children at Home Depot who aren’t speaking English is bigotry, not evidence of H-1B fraud,” a third user wrote. Some users defended his observation while many called out his ‘engagement bait’. Matthew Marsden, a British-origin US citizen known for Coronation Street, Black Hawk Down, has become vocal on social media. On his YouTube channel, he posted several videos on how immigration is destroying the UK. He moved to the US in 2003 and has worked in Hollywood since. He has been staying in Texas for the last five years. He is a naturalized US citizen and holds dual UK-US citizenship.
