Gadkari's ethanol push a conflict of interest: Congress

Congress Thursday alleged that Union highways minister Nitin Gadkari‘s aggressive lobbying for ethanol blending has been marked by a conflict of interest as his two sons are in the business of ethanol production and have gained enormously since the introduction of the policy. AICC spokesman Pawan Khera said Gadkari’s sons Nikhil and Sarang run Cian Agro and Manas Agro, and “Cian Agro’s revenue jumped from Rs 18 crore (June 2024) to Rs 523 crore (June 2025) and its stock price surged 2,184% from Rs 37.45 (Jan 2025) to Rs 638 (Aug 2025).While the common man’s wages have stagnated and declined, Cian Agro’s financial rise is staggering.” tnn
