SAMBALPUR/BHUBANESWAR: A 13-year-old girl from Bargarh district succumbed to injuries after allegedly setting herself on fire Monday, marking the sixth such incident in Odisha in the past one month, report Priti Suna & Ashok Pradhan. She blamed another girl in a video purportedly shot by some onlookers before she was shifted to hospital, but did not elaborate on the nature of the torment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.IGP (Northern Range) Himanshu Lal said the family have made a statement that the Class VIII student had been unwell and was hesitant to return to her hostel. “Police are probing from all possible angles,” Lal said, adding that children need to be more resilient and should never resort to such extreme measures.
