The NFL takes its first 2025 international stop in Dublin, Ireland, where Croke Park will host the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings in an early 9:30 a.m. EST kickoff on NFL Network. All eyes are on one man: Aaron Rodgers. The 40-year-old quarterback, now in black and gold, is set to face an opponent he knows all too well—his former NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings.

Will Aaron Rodgers play today?

Yes, Aaron Rodgers will be playing against the Minnesota Vikings today. Rodgers isn’t producing at the same clip he once did during his prime years with the Green Bay Packers, but he remains one of the league’s most dangerous quarterbacks.Against Minnesota, history shows he usually brings his best. In his last 10 outings against the Vikings, Rodgers averaged 254.9 passing yards per game. Just last season, as a member of the New York Jets, he threw for 244 yards on 29-of-54 passing against Minnesota in London.Heading into today’s matchup, Rodgers has topped 203 passing yards in 13 of his last 18 games. That’s especially notable since the Vikings’ 2025 defensive résumé isn’t exactly filled with elite quarterback competition. Outside of rookie Caleb Williams, who threw for over 200 yards, the other quarterbacks they’ve faced—Michael Penix Jr. and Jake Browning—have minimal NFL experience.

Carson Wentz gets the nod for the Vikings in Dublin

On the opposite sideline, Carson Wentz will start for Minnesota with rookie J.J. McCarthy sidelined due to an ankle injury. For Wentz, this marks his second start of the season and a chance to prove he can still operate at a high level in a system designed for a much younger quarterback. For months, there was speculation that Rodgers himself might end up wearing purple, much like Brett Favre did in 2009 after leaving Green Bay. Those rumors fizzled once Rodgers signed with the Steelers, but fate has once again paired Rodgers with the Vikings, this time in Dublin. Also Read: Tom Brady’s MAGA hat nearly ripped the Patriots dynasty apart from the insideRodgers is fully expected to play, with no injury concerns ahead of kickoff. His presence sets the stage for another overseas showdown between one of the NFL’s most decorated passers and a team still searching for stability at quarterback.
