Jammu: Schools closed for two days due to rain forecast; Vaishno Devi yatra halted till October 8

JAMMU: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) ordered the closure of all government and private schools across Jammu division for two days in view of the Met office forecast of heavy rains from October 5, Sunday to October 7, Tuesday.Naseem Javaid Chowdhary (JKAS), director school education of Jammu, said in his order that in view of the weather advisory from the Met office, all schools will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday. Officials of the education department said further updates will be communicated as per the weather situation.Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, too, announced a temporary suspension of the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, between October 5 and October 7, following the Met office forecast.
