The White House on Thursday shared a photo of President Donald Trump on social media, captioning it “The Peace President,” a day before the Nobel Peace Prize announcement. The post can be seen as an indirect projection of Trump as a potential Nobel laureate.Earlier, when asked about his chances of winning the prize, Trump told reporters, “I have no idea… Marco would tell you we settled seven wars. We’re close to settling an eighth. I think we’ll end up settling the Russia situation… I don’t think anybody in history has settled that many. But perhaps they’ll find a reason not to give it to me.”Trump has called on multiple occasions that he deserves a Nobel prize for doing what he says “nobody has done.”Trump has repeatedly highlighted his peace efforts, and several countries, including Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Rwanda, have previously nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize.Trump has repeatedly claimed credit for brokering a peace deal between the nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan during heightened tensions in Operation Sindoor.India, however, has rejected these claims, with PM Modi stating in Parliament that no foreign leader interfered in the operation. Meanwhile, Pakistan nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, acknowledging his role in facilitating a peace agreement during the high-stakes May crisis.
