KOLKATA: Parents of the rape-murder victim of R G Kar Medical College and Hospital have received an email from the office of President Droupadi Murmu, offering support and solidarity in their pursuit of justice.The President’s communication stated that her personal aide would contact the family shortly. Encouraged by this response from the highest constitutional office, the victim’s parents expressed a renewed sense of hope amid their prolonged struggle for justice.Earlier, the parents had repeatedly sought an audience with PM Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, but their requests went unanswered. They recently travelled to Delhi to meet Shah and President Droupadi Murmu, yet these efforts did not yield immediate results.

The victim’s father said, “We have received some good news from the President. She has assured us that her aide will stay in touch with us. They will look into our problems and try to resolve them. This gives us some hope. If we get their cooperation, it will help us in our fight for justice.”The victim’s mother also expressed relief after receiving the President’s email.
